Mrs. Katherine Stiddam, age 67, of West Jefferson, passed away Friday evening, May 30, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services are will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Furches officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilley Family Cemetery. Mrs. Stiddam was born in Ashe County on January 5, 1947 to the late Verna Worth and Cora Carpenter Stiddam. She worked as an In-Home Health Care Worker. She was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching the Carolina Panthers, listening and dancing to music; but most of all, she loved to shop. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Hailey Keirsten Houck. Mrs. Stiddam is survived by a daughter, Tammy Richardson, of West Jefferson; a son, Chris Richardson, of West Jefferson; a sister, Clara Miller and husband, Jack, of Lansing; a brother, R.C. Stiddam, of West Jefferson; six grandchildren, Jessica Houck, Ashley Lewis, Christopher Richardson, Jr., Cora Nell Richardson, Camille Grace Richardson and Calleb Dean Richardson; two great-grandsons, Dustin Houck and Courtly Houck; several nieces and nephews also survive.
