Mrs. Lurie Effie Wyatt Jones, age 97, of High Point, formerly of Creston passed Monday afternoon, June 23, 2014 at High Point Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denton Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00pm on Friday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Jones was born in Ashe County on Friday, May 27, 1917 to the late Walter and Ellen Miller Wyatt. She was a Homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lerman Jones and a son, Bobby Gene Jones. Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter, Shirley J. Williams of High Point; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
