Mr. Michael William Bare, age 45, of Jefferson died Wednesday night, June 25, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Hart and Rev. Ricky Triplett officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Bare was born in Ashe County on Sunday, May 11, 1969 to the Helen Bare and the late William Allen (Billy) Bare. He enjoyed to turkey and deer hunting. He was a fan of Carolina Tarheels and Atlanta Braves. He was also master craftsman's in wood. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents; Richard Quinion Bare and Nell Miller Bare, and Garfield Shatley and Pauline Barker Shatley. Mr. Bare is survived by his wife, Joanna Sheets Bare; two sons, Matthew Bare of the home, and Brandon Stephens of Creston; his mother, Helen Shatley Bare of West Jefferson; one brother, Alan Bare and wife Lisa of Jefferson; three nieces, Stacee Bare, Kenzie Bare, and Emma Sheets; one nephew, Ethan Sheets also survive.
