Mr. Lester Floyd Jones, age 66, of West Jefferson passed away on Thursday morning. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Blevins and Rev. Dan Little officiating. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the R.W. Jones Family Cemetery in Sampson County with Rev. Jimmy Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, two hours prior to the funeral service at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Jones was born in Sampson County on Monday, September 7, 1942 to the late Aaron Fulton and Addie Tart Jones. Lester was a member at the Bristol Baptist Church. He served in the army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Cox Jones; one brother, William Jones of Clinton, NC; two sisters, Sandra Jones and Patricia Mathis both of Magnolia, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.
