Mrs. Ruby Ann Griffith Williams, age 94, of Crumpler passed away Tuesday morning, September 2, 2014 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. A private graveside service will be held. Mrs. Williams was born in Ashe County on Saturday, January 24, 1920 to the late Claudia Griffith. She retired from Sprague Electric Mfg. Company and Southern Devices. She was also preceded by her husband, Joe Hampton Williams and a son, Joe Williams, Jr. Mrs. Williams is survived by a son, James Williams and wife, Mary, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Miriam Little of Crumpler; a sister, Mable Young, of Maryland; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; several step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
