Mr. Charles Ezra Calhoun, age 75, of Jefferson died Wednesday evening, September 10, 2014 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 11:00am at the Calhoun Cemetery with Rev. J.B. Hamm and Rev. Jim Francis officiating. Mr. Calhoun was born in Ashe County on March 3, 1939 to the late Lester Burton Calhoun and Rose Emmer Carpenter. He was a carpenter. He is survived by three sons; William Gale Calhoun and wife Jill of Creston, Ronald Calhoun of Lansing, and Eric Calhoun of Lansing; two daughters; Deborah McGuire and husband William of West Jefferson, and Rosetta Bledsoe and husband Jackie of Todd; three brothers; Earl Calhoun and wife Lillian of Crumpler, Harold Calhoun and wife Linda, and Paul Dean Calhoun and wife Glenna of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
