Mrs. Lora Jane Miller Severt, age 93, of Jefferson passed away Saturday evening, September 20, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Dollar officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Severt was born in Wilkes County on Tuesday, February 1, 1921 to the late Coy and Callie Bare Miller. She was a Homemaker. She was a long standing member of Piney Ridge Baptist Church in Millers Creek. She was always so proud of her family and always willing to do what she could for them. Lora was always happy go lucky; always with a smile. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Archie Severt; two sons, Allen Severt and Raymond Severt; a brother, Howard Miller; a sister, Ora Mash. Mrs. Severt is survived by six sons, Ronnie Severt and special friend, Sue Phillips, of Jefferson, Perry Severt and wife, Angela, of Jefferson, Jerry Severt, of Lansing, Russell Severt, of West Jefferson, Gary Severt and wife, Judy, of Wilkesboro and Larry Severt and wife, Nancy, of Wilkesboro; two daughters, Penny Jones and husband, Mike, of Jefferson and Wilma Trivette, of Piney Creek; a daughter-in-law, Donna Severt, of West Jefferson; a brother, Franklin Miller, of Millers Creek; four sisters, Evia Zell Miller, of Winston-Salem, Goldie Carolyn Miller, of Wilkesboro, Zula Severt, of Glendale Springs and Ruby Juanita Miller, of Glendale Springs; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a great, great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be appreciated.
