Mrs. Kathy Marie Greene Pollard, age 59, of Valdese passed away Sunday morning, September 21, 2014 at Burke County Hospice & Palliative Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Goodman and Rev. Reeves Jones. Burial will follow in the New River Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Pollard was born in Pittsburgh, PA on Wednesday, May 11, 1955 to the late William Lonnie and Loraine Barker Greene. She worked as a CNA She is survived by her husband, Larry Pollard; two daughters, Amanda Glenn and husband, Michael, of Valdese and Jessica Pollard, of Lenoir; a brother, Terry Greene and wife, Anita, of Jefferson; two sisters, Penny Barker and husband, Chuck, of Jefferson and Donna Brooks and husband, Johnny; four grandchildren, Audrianna Day, Katerina Day, Austin Frasher and Abagail Frasher; several nieces and nephews also survive.
