Juriel Samuel Potter, age 70, of Jefferson died Monday, September 29, 2014 at his home. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00am at Lewis Miller Cemetery with military rites with Rev. Lonnie Jones officiating. Mr. Potter was born in Ashe County on Monday, August 11, 1944 to the late Madison and Ruby Woodard Potter. He was in the United States Army. Juriel worked in installation. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn McCormick Potter, of Newark, Delaware; a son, Joey Potter and wife, Lori, of Newark, Delaware; a daughter, Angela Blevins and husband, Jonathan, of Jefferson; three brothers, Herbie Potter, of Mountain City, TN, David Potter, of Corpus Christi, Texas and Joey Potter, of Lenoir, NC; two sisters, Betty Caldwell, of Charlotte, NC and Linda Reavis, of Warrensville, NC; a grandson, David Blevins; several nieces and nephews also survive.
