Obituary of Ralph Warren Little
Mr. Ralph Warren Little, age 87, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday morning, October 14, 2014 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 following the visitation at Warrensville United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Baker and Rev. Margaret Wannemacher officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with military rites.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 12-2pm at Warrensville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Little was born in Ashe County on Sunday, June 5, 1927 to the late Gaither and Ella Warren Little. Ralph served in the United States Marines at the end of World War II. He was a member of Warrensville United Methodist Church. He was also the owner and operator of Friendly Shoe Store in West Jefferson. Ralph would walk to the post office to pick up his mail daily and you would see him smiling and whistling along his way. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather; and he will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Little.
Mr. Little is survived by his wife; Veneranda Cabuenas Little, two sons; Keith Little and wife Teena of West Jefferson, and Martin Little and wife Debbie of West Jefferson; one daughter; Anne Bowlin and husband Harold of Laurel Springs; two sisters; Ruth Baker of Annapolis, Maryland, and Dorothy Campbell of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; five grandchildren; Wendy Poe and husband Greg of Jefferson, Kimberly Eastridge of West Jefferson, Cori Mash and husband Keaton of Greenville, Hillary Bowlin of Laurel Springs, and Jessica Little of West Jefferson; four great-grandchildren; Maggie Witherspoon, Madison Shepherd, Kira Poe, and Finn Thomas Mash; several nieces and nephews also survive.
