It was a great shock and a very sad moment today when Mary Anne and I learned of Pete's passing. He was always a happy man, especially when he met Toy. I was around when they became acquainted and fell in love.
Pete was one of the finest men I ever knew. He was always a great conversationalist and had many great stories of he and Toy's adventures. We shared many festivals at Summersville together. I will always cherish the memories I have of Pete, and am blessed to have known him.
Toy, please call me when you are up to it.

I am so sorry for your loss. Although, I do not know your family personally, I would like to share some encouraging thoughts from the Bible. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3-4 states, And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death and we will be able to see them again once they resurrected as per John 5:28-29. May these words give you a new hope.

.emma lou you are pretty ugly and pretty apt to stay that way...why he greeted me that way I can't tell you, except I remember at least once telling him how pretty I thought I was. I never took it in a bad way, it was just our private way of loving each other. . I can still see the picture of him in uniform on granny's table, he was a most handsome man. I see the picture of him in this obituary and he is still a most handsome man. he and aunt ann would continue to come visit me when I married whenever they were passing through to see his old army friends in the area. I don't recall any other of my aunts or uncles coming by after I married and moved away. jack and I visited them with our daughter when she was small and I regret that we didn't continue those visits after my aunt died. Uncle Pete was a good man. I will always remember him with most fond memories.
