Rev. Wayne Osborne, age 56, of West Jefferson, died Thursday morning, August 27, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 4:30pm at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Steve LeaShomb, Rev. Rex Eldreth, Rev. John Elledge and Rev. Tim Roten officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00pm on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Preacher Wayne was born in Wilkes County on Thursday, November 27, 1958 to the late Rev. Donald Reid and Kathleen Johnson Osborne. He was a Baptist Minister for many years in Wilkes and Ashe County. He was a man of God and touched many lives through marriages, baptisms, deaths and revivals. He lived his life through his speaking and his music; he was always happy and glad to help out. Preacher Wayne was the Youth minster at Midway Baptist Church in West Jefferson. He had a deep love for children. Rev. Osborne is survived by his wife, Stephanie Faw Osborne; three sisters, Wanda Kay Nichols and husband, Larry, of Soddy Daisy, TN, Marie Cooper and husband, Rick of Millers Creek and Sharon Osborne, of Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews also survive.
