Mike -
You have always been an inspiration to me. I know your light will continue to shine even brighter in heaven. The loss of you is made easier knowing you are finally out of pain and at peace. I will see you again... just in a better place.

Our thoughts will be with you and your family at this time.
I wanted to share a little
remembrance with you at this time.
When Uncle Bob was so sick before he passed, Michael went to visit with him. Aunt El was there too and she told us how Michael sat by Bob's bedside and prayed the rosary the entire weekend. She said Mike would not leave him.
Michael was a special person and we all enjoyed visiting him when he came home for the reunion that year.
He shall be missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Michael a number of years ago, when Linda brought him to visit WALA on Government Street. From the first moment I met him, he had me laughing. Michael visited for the day and was someone I could easily talk to. We would meet two more times after that - he was still a joy. Family, I am sadden by your loss of someone so special.
Just remember, "The Lord is Thy Sheperd"....

Barbara, your other baby sister posted a condolence
I have many memories of my much loved brother, Michael. I remember when we lived in New Jersey, Mom used to tell Mike, Larry and me that she must have another child she didn’t know about because all she ever heard from us was “It wasn’t me! I admired my older brothers. I used to tag along with them when they let me. I would watch them play marbles for hours and eventually learned how to play. I got so good that I captured everyone’s marbles and proudly carried a shoe box full around with me.
Mike was fun because he didn’t mind what we played. He’d willingly play hop scotch, house or tea party. I know sometimes Larry felt left out but he simply refused to play all that “girly stuff.
In Germany, we had a HUGE sled that would fit all three of us and we would spend hours sledding down the snowy hills. We would explore the stream beds looking for duck eggs; then come home to Mom and Dad and sit by the radiator to get dry.
There are three things that Mom always warned us about: motorcycles, fireworks and gas stoves. One day Michael came home with a motorcycle! It was exciting but scary and he asked if I wanted to learn to ride it. I felt pleased that he would allow this since it was obviously such a treasure for him. He got me on it and began to explain. I immediately hit the throttle and the bike flew out from under me! I was so worried about the bike but Mike was only worried about me. I felt truly warmed by his love and concern for me.
Mike loved basketball, peanut butter sandwiches and silly jokes. He would play basketball in the back yard all summer long, proudly announce his new threshold of how many sandwiches he could consume at one sitting and unendingly tell wacky “Knock-Knock jokes. Here’s one for you, Mike - Knock Knock. Who's there? Aardvark. Aardvark who? Aardvark a million miles for one of your smiles...
I love you muchly, Mikey--Always.
