Mr. Lida Pugh age 90, of Jefferson passed away on Thursday morning, June 16, 2016 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Blackburn, Rev. Cory Halsey, Pastor Dana Hines and Rev. Jack Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the New River Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Pugh was born on Saturday, October 3, 1925 in Tease, Virginia to the late Gerome Horton and Ina Brown Pugh. He was a member of Fletcher Memorial Church. He retired from Thomasville Furniture after working 30 years. He also was a tobacco and cattle farmer. Lida believe in hard work; which he did all of his days. He was a loving father and grandfather; he will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jones on August 22, 2011; a daughter, Brenda Sue Pugh; two sisters, Winnie Jones and Joann Blackburn. Mr. Pugh is survived by a son, Lloyd Pugh and wife, Karyn, of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Betty Lou Houck and husband, Donnie, of Jefferson; two sisters, Mozelle Brinegar, of Jefferson and Beatrice Young, of Grassy Creek; a brother, Rev. Jack Pugh and wife, Phyllis, of West Jefferson; three grandchildren, Geneva Absher and husband, Dane, Derik Bauguess and Evelyn Pugh; three great-grandchildren, Amanda Chapman, Tucker Bauguess and Emily Bauguess; three great, great-grandchildren, Marijane Church, Hunter Church and Nicholas Chapman; two step granddaughters, Michelle Ham and husband, Billy and Melissa Bedford and husband, Chris; three step great-grandchildren, Montana Ham, Ashtyn Bedford and Drake Bedford; several nieces and nephews also survive.
