Mr. James Shannon Vannoy, better known as "Shane", age 45 of Jefferson passed away Friday morning, October 6, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 1:00pm at Bald Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. John Elledge and Rev. Ken Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Vannoy was born in Ashe County on Friday, October 6, 1972 to William Eddie Vannoy and Susan Cromartie Davis. He enjoyed playing golf and any water sports, such as canoeing, scuba diving, water skiing. He loved life to the fullest and Shane never met a stranger. He was a loving son, father and brother; he will be missed by all. He is preceded in death by his step brother, Jeremy Elliott; his step-mother, Evelyn Dolinger Vannoy; his grandparents, James R. and Wilma Vannoy and his cousin, Adam Cromartie. Mr. Vannoy is survived by his son; Jack Vannoy of Hillsborough, NC; his father; Eddie Vannoy, of Jefferson; his mother, Susan Davis, of Jefferson; one brother, Brandon Vannoy and wife Tracy, of Jefferson; one sister, Nikki Wright and husband Steuart, of Wilkesboro, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
