Mrs. Iva Jean Parsons Calloway, age 79, of Elkin, formerly of Ashe county, passed away Thursday morning, February 15, 2017 at Woltz Hospice House in Dobson, NC. There will be no services for Mrs. Calloway. Mrs. Calloway was born in Ashe County on June 17, 1938 to the late Walter Scott and Ollie Alice Trivette Parsons. She worked as a salesperson at Rose's. Mrs. Calloway is survived by two brothers, Roy Parsons of Anderson, SC and Joe Parsons and wife, Kay, of Millers Creek; two sisters, Francis Grogan and husband, Sam, of Fleetwood and Georgia Shumate and husband, Bill, of North Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews also survive.
