Obituary of Larry Garland Holdaway

Mr. Larry Garland Holdaway, age 68, of Fleetwood passed away on Thursday afternoon, September 13, 2018 at Glenbridge Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Ashe Worship Center with Pastor Chuck Call officiating. Burial will follow in the Fleetwood Community Center.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Holdaway was born in Ashe County on April 1, 1950 to the late William Kenneth and Belle Campbell Holdaway. He was the owner and operator of Larry’s Garage.

He is survived by his wife; Phyllis Lemly Holdaway, two daughters; Tabitha Watson and husband Andrew of Deep Gap, and Wendy Springs and husband Mike of Alabama, two sons; Jason Holdaway and wife Heather of West Jefferson, and Justin Holdaway of Fleetwood, two step-daughters; Tania Huffman of Wilkesboro, and Dawn Renee Huffman of Lenoir, two sisters; Brenda Dunlevy and husband, Barry, of Pine Hurst, and Shirley Howard and husband Wally of West Jefferson, two brothers; Lanny Holdaway of Wilmington and Kenny Holdaway of Mt. Airy, seven grandchildren, five step grandchildren, two step great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
