Mrs. Joanne Hartsoe Kemp, better known as "Joanne" age 81 of Warrensville passed away Tuesday morning, November 20, 2018 at NC Baptist Hospital. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Betty Henson and Rev. Margaret Wannamacher officiating. Burial will follow in the John F. Hartsog Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 1st from 1-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Kemp was born in Peach Bottom, PA on November 16, 1937 to the late Jonathan Gwyn and Mae Clementine Walker Hartsoe. She was a member of Creston United Methodist Church. Joanne worked as a medical secretary and insurance counselor in many doctor's office and hospitals. She was also a member of DAR. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ron Parker and Grant Riley Kemp; a sister, Mary Elliott; a niece, Thana M. Elliott. Mrs. Kemp is survived by two daughters, Regina McCoy and husband, Paul Sanders, of Pittsboro, NC and Sharyn McCoy and husband, James Wilczewski, of Creston; a son, Jonathan (Jon) Parker and fiancé Missy Miller, of Warrensville; a brother, Robert Hartsoe and wife, Judy, of Sparta; four grandchildren, Natalya Buckel and husband, Keith, of Durham, Laurel Hopper of Pittsboro, Roy Hopper and wife, Gabrielle, of Chapel Hill and Maeleigh Parker, of Warrensville; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be appreciated.
