Mrs. Virginia Ruth Price Roberts, age 87, of Warrensville passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 1:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Margaret Wannamacher officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00pm on Saturday, December 8, 2018; three hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Roberts was born in Ashe County on December 24, 2018 to the late Gwyn Brantley and Pauline Mae Shoaf Price. She attended Brevard College and Meredith College; where she received her teaching degree. She retired from Ashe County School System; where she taught Home Economics. Virginia Ruth was a member of Clifton United Methodist Church. She always had a smile on her face and willing to help anyone. She was a loving mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Roberts; a brother, Joe Gwyn Price. Mrs. Roberts is survived by: two sons, tom Roberts and wife, Tammy, of West Jefferson and Todd Roberts and wife, Keta, of West Jefferson; three grandchildren, Meghann Roberts-Clawson and husband, Josh, of Crumpler, Preston Roberts and wife, Madi, of Fleetwood and Annsley Roberts of West Jefferson; two nephews, David Price and Brantley Price also survive. In lieu of flowers or memorials may be made to, Clifton United Methodist Church, c/o Eloise Price, 11026 Hwy 88 West, Warrensville, NC 28693.
