I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mother was my best girl friend until age 12 and I enjoyed spending many nights at The Graybeals. I moved away but we sporadically kept in touch with each other during the time they lived near me in Maryland. Praying for comfort for the entire family.

Glenda was and still is a "class act". She and Sidney were always so kind and friendly to us. We will miss having tea with her on her porch. She made us feel loved and warm and ohhh that lovely big smile!
Sorry to have missed the funeral we were out of the continental United States at the time.
2 Corinthians 5:8
Yes, we are of good courage. and we would rather be away from the body and at the home with the Lord. :) And she is home with Sidney!
Prayers of comfort to the family. We love you Glenda! xxooxoxoxoo Until we meet again.
Sincerely,
Greg, Wendy, Brianna and Jeff Lance

Mixed emotions.. I am glad she doesn't have to suffer anymore...but she is already missed in the community...last time I saw her was at a funeral and we talked..she told me she was doing good and she looked good and I thought maybe everything would be good..hated to hear she was sick again...I know she is in a better place..but she will be missed.... praying for comfort for all of you...

Mrs. Glenda was such a loving example of a Christian lady. I met Sidney and Glenda when they first moved back to Ashe County and immediately Sidney shared his love of the Gideon Ministry that he and Glenda were a part of. Later my husband and I joined this ministry. She put her faith in action and she will be greatly missed.

I met Glenda Allen for the first time when her grandson, Benjamin Allen and I were first dating. I remember her southern charm and kindness so vividly. She told us about her and her husband distributing the Gideon bibles. It was neat to hear their stories and their faith in God. Ben and I were able to travel down to North Carolina to visit Glenda as well. Although not necessary, her hospitality was astounding. I am greatly sorry about your loss. She will always be remembered by me and so many other people. Prayers for comfort and peace at this difficult time.

63 years ago, I received a letter from Pfeiffer College saying that my room-mate
would be Glenda Graybeal from Grassy Creek NC. Moving in as strangers, we immediately became wonderful friends. God really matched our personalities,
a pleasure for 4 years. We've kept in touch all these years. Our two grandsons are
Seniors in high school and soon will be off to college. I've told them that I pray
that they have room-mates as marvelous as I had. With a grateful heart, I send
love & Blessings to Glenda's entire family.

You all are in my thoughts and prayers not just now but in the days ahead. I know that Aunt Glenda will be missed by many but her kind words, actions, and the memories of her will live on in our heart and lives. She is at peace now and you all honored her wishes even when it was hard for you. She loved you all so much. I know that there will be hard days ahead but you have many wonderful memories to hold on to. I am always here if you need me for anything.

Dear Family and Friends of Glenda Allen,
My heart goes out to you as you mourn the loss of a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
In addition to her dedicated work ethic through the years as a homemaker (gardening and preserving food abundantly) and as a faithful volunteer in her church and community, I will personally always remember her warm hospitality, always making sure her house guests were well cared for and well fed.
Glenda's life exhibited steadfast faithfulness to God and to her family. Her kindness and gentleness were always appreciated by all those who crossed her path.
As she makes the transition from this life to the next, and hears the words of our Lord, "Well done, good and faithful servant", and is reunited with her loving husband, her life here on earth will not be forgotten. Glenda's legacy will live on in the lives of her children, her grandchildren, her extended family and all those whose lives she has touched down through the years.
You have so many wonderful family memories of times spent together. Celebrate these memories, and celebrate Glenda's life, a life well lived!
