Mr. Todd D. Roberts, age 56, of West Jefferson passed away Wednesday morning, March 6, 2019 at his home. Funeral arrangements will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 3:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Elledge and Rev. Peter Parish officiating. A private burial will be held at Rich Hill Farm Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Roberts was born in Ashe County on July 30, 1962 to the late Thomas G. and Virginia Ruth Price Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his favorite hunting dog, Belle. Todd is a graduate of North West High School and Appalachian State University with degrees in English and History. Anyone that knew Todd recognized his love and wealth of knowledge of local, national and world history. Todd joined the staff and family of Boone Family Funeral Home in September of 1996 and worked as a Funeral Directors Assistant and Pre-need Specialist for 22 years. He had a deep love for pheasant hunting, old double barrel shotguns and working on the family farm with his brother, Peck. Todd was a perfect gentleman with a servant's heart and a true pleasure to be around. He was a loving husband, father, brother, co-worker and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Todd is survived by his wife, Keta Houck Roberts; a daughter, Annsley Roberts, of the home; a brother, Tom "Peck" Roberts and wife, Tammy, of West Jefferson; one nephew, Preston Roberts and wife, Madi; two nieces, Meghann Roberts-Clawson and husband, Josh and Lauren Speaks also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made towards Annsley Roberts Scholarship Fund, please make checks payable to Keta Roberts or Annsley Roberts. You may go by any State Employees Credit Union to make a deposit towards this fund. The family will be meeting at the home of Cathy Speaks at 883 Bald Mountain Road in West Jefferson. Honorary pallbearers will be as follow: Terry (Skillet) Gambill, Randy Roland, Brantley Price, David Price, John Roberts, Johnny Weaver, Carl Covington, Keith Holder, Mark Griffin, Mark Beshears, Morris Nichols and Richard Jerkins.
