To the entire Barker family, I would like to express my sincere condolences for your loss of Emmet and for the past losses that your family has endured over the past couple of years. Just know that they are all together again. I stopped at the nursing home and was able to visit with Emmet for a while when I was home in April this year. It was a pleasure to see him. I had stopped at his house and then at the garage where I ran into Nathan and he told me where I could find Emmet. I have great fond memories of the entire family and spent a lot of time at their house. They are all deeply missed. I still call Jefferson home even though I only make it there about once a year. Like I told Nathan, if there is any thing I can do let me know. Dale

I found out when visiting Emmett that he really liked chili and frostys. I asked him if he would have supper with me. I knew he didn't, like to eat alone. We totally pigged out on chilli, baked potatoes and frostys and of course one of his favorite desserts chocolate pie. He did much more for me during those visits than I did for him. Love to all the family.

My condolences to the Barker Family. Emmet was a kind, genuine person with plenty of entertaining stories. I always enjoyed talking with him about his license plate collection and his experiences during the Korean War. He will be missed by many.

To the Barker Family, I knew Emmet as a young boy working a lot with my grandfather with cattle and being a distant family member who always cared as much for our family as he did his own. A calm and caring man who seemed to embrace all he met with his kindness. A very kind man with a heart the size of the earth. As a warrior for our country he exemplified what it means to be a true American! I personally express my deepest sympathy for the family as Emmet will now take his place at the throne of the Lord our God. Rest In Peace Emmet and may the family find the strength to remember him as a good and honest human being who cared for all he met!

Family I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Emmett. I did not know him until I started working at Midway and saw him on our visits to Forest Ridge with the PALS program. He was such a sweet man and I just saw him and sat and talked with him on Monday evening. It gives me joy to know he is joining his wife and sons in Heaven and I can only imagine how much wider his beautiful smile is right now!
