My mom Katie ended up with Richard around 1981,I was shy and had left for the summer to stay I Murphy North Carolina,with my dad while he took a job as manigar of Bantam Chef in the town of Murphy, Well normally my dad took me home in time for new school year but,This loud ,tall ,very in control of everything ,driving a new van and said we're going to Nashville first before going back to Ashe ,I ,was hesatent but,had never heen many places .I felt bad leaving my dad but ,Lynn was with mom and we never got to go places together,Richard made sure I had everything I needed from that day till he moved on to next one but,He was a wonderful man,He's the reason I graduated. High School ,I over heard him telling my mom that I'd never make it and he said ,you need to give her more credit ,she needs someone to believe 8n her and that made so much difference in me .

Linda and family,
I have known Dick and Linda for many years, and had the pleasure of doing several shows for them at their
Blue Ridge Dinner Theater. Dick was always wonderful to me and Timmy Stamper, as well as many other entertainers who performed there. I will always remember the hospitality they graciously gave us on each visit. I loved the stories and the jokes we told over dinner or breakfast at the Winners Circle. No matter how busy he was (and he was a busy man!) he always made time to visit and made sure we were taken care of. Their love and respect for us made our lives on the road a joy, and inspired us to give our all when it was showtime!!!
We will miss him and never forget him.
Praying for God to give his family peace and heal their hearts that are breaking today.

I first met Dick in 1984. He owned The Traders Shell , and I went to work for him. I was 19 yrs old. Billy Dollar was his manager, and he had about four other people that worked there too. Traders Shell was the only FULL SERVICE station in town!! Billy Dollar ran it like clockwork for Dick. I learned everything about the place from Billy Dollar!! I enjoyed it, cause we sold more fuel than anybody else in town!! On Friday and Saturday night, a lot of my friends filled their tanks their in order to cruise town.
Dick was a nice man!! You work good for him, and he’d make it worth your while!! That was 35 yrs ago!!
But today, we remember Dick Copus and his family!!
He was a good man and a great business man!! Be he was always easy to talk to, and honest with you about things!! WE will miss him!! Our heart and prayers go out to the loved ones, and the pain they fill now!!
Just remember, that he want suffer anymore on this Earth, and he wouldn’t want you to feel the sorrow that you are feeling now either!! God bless and keep you is our prayers for all of you at this time
