Obituary of Richard Allen Copus
Mr. Richard Allen Copus, better known as “Dick” age 78, of Jefferson passed away Monday morning, July 15, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A gathering of family and close friends will be held on Monday from 12:00-2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Copus was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on April 18, 1941. Dick was an owner and operated of several business in Ashe County; such as an American Beverage Subs & Package Store, Trader’s Shell Gas Station, Greenfield Restaurant but the most recently was the Winner Circle restaurant; which was opened for over 28 years. He was a hard worker and an honest man; loved by many.
In his spare time, he enjoyed travelling with his wife Linda and the family. He especially like Christmas season and decorating for it. He loved life.
Mr. Copus is survived by: his wife, of 34 years of marriage, Linda Bare Copus; two daughters, Michelle Stanton, of Waller, Texas, Lainie Susanne Kopicki, of Asheville; one son, Rick Copus, of West Jefferson; one step daughter, Angelia B Pilar of West Jefferson; one step-son, Erik A Bare of Jefferson; seven grandchildren also survive.
