Obituary of Fairinda Fairfax Payne

Fairinda Fairfax Payne, better known as "Fair" age 76, of Jefferson, passed away Thursday evening, September 27, 2019 at her residence.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Episcopal Church with Rev. Shirley Long officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Payne was born in Jefferson, NC on April 1, 1943 to the late James Harvey Payne and Winifred Ralston Payne. Fair retired from hospital laboratory work and immensely enjoyed the company of her church family. She loved animals and spent hours birdwatching, fishing and entertaining her pets. Her faith remained strong and steadfast, even as she anticipated her next adventure.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Harvey Payne and her sister, Nan Richards.

Ms. Payne is survived by her dog Maisie, special caregivers and several nieces and nephews.
