I’m so very sorry to hear of Cecil’s passing away. Seems like I’ve known him forever, We worked together starting on Oct.25th 1972 ! We laughed about it being his birthday!! During that time I worked as his helper on his Crane at a job at McGuire Nuclear Station for Duke Power and I learned how to do his job and I became a Crane Operator too . I’ve always considered him a great friend and seems like we could always pick up where we left off between jobs we were on together from 72 till when I left Duke in 98 . I saw Cecil last at a Duke Power Reunion in 2012 if memory serves and I enjoyed talking with him again. Life and health issues seem to keep people from visiting when they want to as life is short and time is fleeting !
I just wanted to share that memory because it always comes to mind when I think of him and the old days !!
I’m keeping his family in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time, and I pray The Lord will give them peace of mind and heart now that he is at ease . With Deepest Sympathy, James ( Clutch) Wilkerson

I am very sorry to hear of Cecil's passing. I am sorry for your loss of a beloved father, father in law and grandfather. I would like to acknowledge and pay tribute to Cecil for his military service to our country and the privileges his service has given me. Cecil was always friendly and kind to me over the years. He always had a good sense of humor and made me feel welcome. The Shoemake family is very special to me. Judy and I have been friends since first grade and as a young girl I spent many nights at Tootsie's home. Because of Judy I became friends with all of you. Some of my happiest memories include each of you.
Your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I love each and every one of you!
