We are so sorry to hear about Marilyn, she was such a special person. We have wonderful memories of Rosco. Dorothy and each of you.It was a blessing to live near your family when you lived in Jefferson. Marilyn like her parents always showed love and kindness to everyone she met. Retha, Ronnie, Nanette and all her family will be in our prayers.

I know Sister Marilyn's passing from this mortal life into the eternal, immortal and incorruptible life is sad for us because we miss our friend but it is also a time of rejoicing because we know that she has fought a good fight, she has kept the faith and there is a crown of righteousness laid up for her and she is forever in the presence of the Lord. I started going to church with Sister Marilyn at Highland Bible Tabernacle when I started ASU back in the '90's. I was thinking of all the weekends that Sister Marilyn, Sister Glenda, Lindsay and Sharon, Lisa and Danny, Debby and myself would get together and the laughs we shared and also the times we spent talking about the Lord. Our fellowship together was/is so precious to me. We were the "young people" of the church at that time. Sister Marilyn was not only a close friend but she was a Spiritual mentor to me. Her thoughts and words was something I cherished. She lived a life that was an example of a true Christian and I'm so thankful that God allowed our paths to cross.
Ronnie, Retha, Nanette and the Denza Family - I am sorry for this sad time but I will remember you in my prayers that God will bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Ronnie, Diana, Retha and the rest of the Cope family .... it is with profound sadness that we learned of Marilyn’s passing. I have the fondest memories growing up spending time with my older cousins at Uncle Roscoe and Aunt Dot’s home and at the farm in Virginia for family reunions. It really is sad that we had strayed apart over the years. Marilyn was a true Christian and served her community and children through her work as a teacher and with DSS. So it is with joy that I know she is reunited with her Dad and Mom, my Dad and Mom, Sonny and Ann, Granddad and Grandmaw and so many other family members that have proceeded us in death. She is laughing and dancing around the Lords table reunited with family.

I am so sorry to learn of Marilyn’s death. We were classmates and good friends at ACHS. Those years flew by as have all the years since. What I remember most was her strong faith and love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God bless and comfort each of you.

I'm so sorry to hear about Marilyn. She was one of my closest childhood friends. We ran all over the playground at Jefferson Elementary pretending we were horses. Such friends are irreplaceable!
I'm so glad that we recently reconnected and had a chance to reminisce. Marilyn had a very strong faith and seemed to trust in God for whatever her future brought. She loved to read! Her home was full of books.
Marilyn loved her family. We talked about her parents, Roscoe and Dorothy and her brother, Ron and little sister, Nanette. She was especially close to Retha and grateful for her help and company during her illness. Her adopted family meant so much to her as did the many children she worked with.
As I sit here, I keep having other precious memories of our times together. Once at a high school Christmas party, she stood up and sang "Old Stewball was a racehorse". My favorite memory may be once, when she "came home with me" we were walking between the road and the lake at Ashelawn when she suddenly said, "I feel like running", and she did. Fast! I like to think that she's running now. Just for the joy of it! I hope that precious memories will bring you peace.
