Mr. George Allison Elmer, age 80, of Grassy Creek passed away Monday morning, March 8, 2021 at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Elmer was born in Washington, DC on December 22, 1940 to the late George W. and Anna Tharin Elmer. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years. He worked as a General Manager in New York City Theatre for over 20 years. He moved to Ashe County at retirement. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Elmer. Mr. Elmer is survived by: his wife, Sheila Matthews Elmer; two sons, Jason Elmer of Brooklyn, NY and Luke Elmer of Brooklyn, NY; a sister, Francis Cheetah Currier of Punta Gorda, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive.
