Mrs. Naomi Miller Hartzog, age 70, of Statesville, formerly of Ashe County, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00pm on Saturday, prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Hartzog was born in Ashe County on July 11, 1938 to the late Ambrose Franklin Miller and to Ola McNeil Miller Greer. She worked as a sewing machine operator at Leonard Mfg. and Flex Knit Mfg. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hampton Hartzog, a daughter, Lena Ruth Hartzog, a step brother, Jess Greer; a step sister, Elsie Miller; two brothers-in-law, David Hartzog and Fred Hartzog and a sister-in-law, Maggie Jane Brown. She is survived by a son, James Hartzog of Statesville; her mother, Ola McNeil Greer, of West Jefferson; a brother, Blaine Miller and wife, Shirley, of West Jefferson; five sisters, Lillian Miller and husband, John, of West Jefferson, Patsy Ashley and husband, Quince, of North Wilkesboro, Sharon Trivett and husband, Talmadge, of West Jefferson, Mildred Sluder of Todd and Joann Robinson and husband, John, of Grassy Creek; a granddaughter, Stacey Hartzog, of Statesville; an aunt, Belle McNeil, of West Jefferson; five brothers-in-law, Thomas Gordon Hartzog and wife, Mae, Everette Hartzog and wife, Mildred, Edward Hartzog and wife, Parmalee, Jacob Hartzog and wife, Brenda and Steve Hartzog and wife, Lynn; two sisters-in-law, Toby Hartzog and Polly Weaver; several nieces and nephews also survive.
