Mr. Walter Garland Wyatt, age 63, of Lansing, passed away Wednesday night, March 24, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Lyalls and Rev. Jim Greer officiating. Burial will follow in the Calhoun Cemetery. The family will receive from 6:00 - 9:00 PM on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mr. Wyatt was born in Ashe County on Tuesday, March 4, 1947 to the late Rhuda and Edna Lewis Wyatt. He was a Timber Logger. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Greer. He is survived by a companion, Shirley Greer, of Creston; two brothers, William Wyatt, better known as "Bill" of Lansing and Gale Wyatt, of Whiteboro, TX; eight sisters, Maxine Dancy, of Warrensville, Louella Baldwin, of Warrensville, Betty Dancy, of West Jefferson, Netty Hart, of Lansing, Bonnie Denny, of Warrensville, Juanita Sharpe, of Mouth of Wilson, VA, Geneva Kemp, of West Jefferson and Jeannie Hamm of Lansing; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will be meeting at the home of Ed and Bonnie Denny at 459 Fannie Cove Extension in Warrensville.
