Robert Fred Roten, age 80, of Creston, died Saturday, October, 9, 2010 at the Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Roten, Rev. Fred Richardson, and Rev. Tommy Dollar officiating. Burial will follow in the Staggs Creek Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, October 10, 2010 at 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Roten was born in Ashe County on Thursday, October 9, 1930 to the late Albert and Minnie Pearl Mahaffey Roten. He is also preceded in death by his wife Virginia Church Roten; a son Larry Roten of Lansing. Mr. Roten is survived by a son, Rev. Bob Roten of Boone; a step-son, Johnny Hartsoe of Virginia; a daughter, Faye Franklin of Naples, Florida; three step-daughters, Peggy Woods of Warrensville, Sue Miller of Warrensville, Bonnie Black of Warrensville; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nine step-great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
