We have known Dennis for so long, we can't believe this has happened. We don't have the words to express to you how sorry we are and how much we will miss him along with a lot of others, We know I have never heard anyone say a bad word about him. He would have done anything he could for anyone that needed it, that is what a giving man he was. Dennis' family was the most important thing in his life, you could tell that just by being around him for a few minutes. He will be greatly missed. Let me know if there is something I can do. My prayers are with you.
With Love,
Robert & Debbie Dishman

I really don't know what to say, there are really no words. Dennis was one of the best men I ever met, he always had a smile on his face and always had a hug for me. I remeber when Megan and I played basketball together he always had great things to say and always supported us no matter what. I have so many fond memeoris of him when I used to stay with Megan, he always made me laugh and one time in particuular that I remember is when he convinced me to take a bite of this big pepper, I have never had anything so hot in my mouth. He just thought that was hillarious and laughed at me while I tried to drink water to cool my mouth off. He finally told me to drink some milk that it would help, after a while it did but it took a long while. To say the least I wouldn't try anything he asked me to again. At times he was like a second dad to me. I can't imagine what you guys are going through right now, but if there is anything I can do please let me know. I am praying for you and love you all so much.
Megan,
I know we haven't been in touch with you like we used to but I still love you so much and I will do whatever you need me to just let me know. I am here if you want to talk or just want me to listen or just sit with you in silence. Again, I don't know what to say, you know how much I cared about your dad and how much I will miss him. I will pray for you and I love you.
With Much Love Always,
Nikki Dishman

Dennis enjoyed his youth, grew up to be a well respected business man, loving husband, and devoted father. He was a great example of what a good ole country boy can accomplish in this life. He was liked and loved by fellow employees, many friend and his family. His family loved him and showed their love and support for him throughout his illness. Regardless of worldly goods, to have the love and respect of so many, including your entire family, speaks very well of Dennis Stansbery, and pretty much explains the kind of man he was and why so many will miss him. We hold his wife, Leona and his beautiful daughters in our prayers, his mother, Ruania, his sisters, Gail and Debbie, his special nephews and his big brother, Danny. We love you and extend our greatest sympathy.
Sincerely, Maureena, Jerry and Quincy Denny

I was so blessed to be in a family with such a great man as Dennis. I often think back to all the family reunions with 'uncle Dennis' as I called him when I was alot younger, he was a quiet man with such a stature that established such respect. He was such kind person that always put everyone ahead of himself with such grace and dignity. I know that Dennis has a home he never has to worry about being sick or any other natural worries here on earth. I am blessed to also have 3 wonderful, beautiful cousins who are destined for great things they are a product of the great father Dennis was and the wonderful mother, Leona, they have, you guys will always be in my prayers.

"Uncle Dennis" as we all called him will be greatly missed. Dennis always made us feel like part of his family and helped us in any way he could, and we thank him for that. Dennis was one of the BEST people we knew and we will miss him terribly. But we would not wish him back on this earth for anything. He has a new life now, one where there will be no more suffering and no more pain. Until we meet again one day we will always carry our warmest thoughts of you "Uncle Dennis" We love you all and if there is anything we can do, we are just a phone call away.

Very sorry to read of the passing of your dear loved one Dennis. He was a young man with so much more to give in life. It seems that life is such a precious gift and yet so short-lived for the time we exist. I am writing to share a few words of comfort and encouragement from the source of truth the bible.
God holds out a wonderful hope for all those in the grave. At John 11:25 Jesus said "I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. HE THAT EXERCIES FAITH IN ME, EVEN THOUGH HE DIES, WILL COME TO LIFE." Yes Gods greatness is evident in the resurrection of his son Jesus Christ. Moreover that great act is a guarantee that the resurrection of others is possible. The bible gives nine accounts of ones who were resurrected. That should strengthened our faith that God can bring back to life the billions of dead people he holds within his perfect memory. (John 5-28,29) What a blessed reason to hope in God!
We have all been given the wonderful gift of our memories. As you and yours start to heal the memories of Dennis will bring you great joy.
Grieving is the normal and natural respond to the loss of some one you love. I found three ways that helped me. Talking about your feeling writing about your feeling and reading the information in the bible on the resurrection. I hope these few words have lightened your grief strengthened your faith in our heavenly father. (Psalms 83-18)

I want to send my sympathy and prayers to the Stansberry family. I had so much fun with Dennis as a teen. I will never forget the night the cops had my car towed from where I had left it while I rode with Dennis to his mother's house. He and I were so surprised to come back and find my car missing. He was always so much fun and was a wonderful friend and breakfast buddy to my father, Bower Campbell. They worked alot together and our family will always have great memories of Dennis. My heart goes out to each of you.

I attended Northwest Ashe High School with Dennis and have not spoken with him for many years. I remember Dennis as a young man who lived life to the fullest. I expect he lived more life in 1 year than most people do in 10. Dennis was a very tough competitor in athletics and in all that he did. He was very popular, especially with the ladies and loved nice cars. In particular, I remember a 1959 aqua blue Corvette and a 1969 454 Nova. He had great taste!
From reading the thoughts and feelings of others here, I can see that Dennis lived through all phases of life with the same fullness and passion that characterized his earlier years. I salute you Dennis on a life well lived and hope your family and friends can be similarly blessed!
