Mr. Dennis Jeffrey Stansberry, age 55, of Crumpler passed away on Saturday morning, November 8, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00-2:00, three hours prior to the funeral service at the chapel. Mr. Stansberry was born in Ashe County on August 12, 1953 to the late Wiley DeWitt Stansberry and his mother who survives, Ruania Blevins Stansberry of West Jefferson. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, an "over-the-top" uncle and friend. Mr. Stansberry thoroughly enjoyed going Pheasant hunting. Dennis was a good hearted man and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of almost twenty-seven years, Leona Wilcox Stansberry; three daughters, Megan Stansberry Lyalls and husband B.J. of Crumpler, Morgan and Taylor Stansberry both of Crumpler; one brother, Dann Stansberry of West Jefferson; two sisters, Gail Eldreth and husband Jerry of Lansing, Debbie Brown and husband Barry of North Wilkesboro; three nephews, Randy Tester, William Tester, Jeremy Brown; two nieces, Mollie Brown and Teresa Brown.
