Asleen Little McNeill, age 85, of Crumpler, of the Nathans Creek community, died Saturday morning, November 6, 2010 at her home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Boone Family Funeral Chapel with Rev. Reeves Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30-1:00pm on Tuesday, prior to the funeral service. She was born in Ashe County on Monday, January 19, 1925 to the late James Otto and Susie Absher Little. She was a member of Scottsville Baptist Church. Asleen (Granny) loved her Lord, family and friends, she never failed to remind us of her love. She excelled in cooking and we will miss her apple pies, banana pudding and chocolate cake. She greatly anticipated a visit from her great-grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew. Asleen is survived by her husband, of 64 years of marriage, Robert G. McNeill, of Crumpler; a son, Jimmy McNeill and wife, Joyce, of Crumpler; a brother, Clifford Little, of Crumpler ; four grandchildren, Jamie McNeill, of Crumpler, Janey Lanier and husband, James of Lillington, NC, Jeremy McNeill and wife, Nichole, of Wilkesboro, NC and Julie McNeill, of North Wilkesboro; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Lanier and Andrew Lanier, both of Lillington, NC; three nieces and one nephews; several cousins also survive.
