"Here where these candles burn for some
Whom we no more on Earth shall see;
Yet not alone in awe we pause,
For these same lights shall shine
For all!
There's gladness, too, in knowing
Affliction past; from pain set free--our Father's house!
And Home, at last!"

When I first met my mother-in-law to be, Clarcy,we became instant friends! Over the years that friendship only deepened...we loved to cook together, to sit for hours and talk together, to go for walks...and even to clean house together! Her kind and bright spirit made all of my family (Donny, Denae, Garrett and myself) absolutely LOVE to be with her! I remember one year when she and I were getting ready to put the Thanksgiving turkey in the oven at her house. We had timed everything perfectly...but in one last check we found that the "gizzards and such" were still frozen together and stuck in white paper inside the bird. Trying to be creative, we got out knives and a small hammer and tugged and pulled and hammered at "the 'ol bird!" We got to laughing so hard together that we could barely finish our task and get that turkey in the oven! To this day, my family says certain phrases and words the way she would have said them and we just laugh together--remembering...phrases like "cat fur to make kitten britches..." and "Oakley is watching out for us..."
My life has been more than blessed to have had Clarcy as my friend and my mother-in-law. I was grateful to have sat at her bedside during her very last hours. We sang hymns...read Scripture...talked about who she was going to see in Heaven in just a very short while...and read the Christmas story to her. In short, I was so thankful that we were able to walk with her right up to the edge of River Jordan...and there she crossed over with Jesus Christ just a few hours after we had just left her side.
May the depth of Mama's faith...the strength of her character...and the love she had for everyone be an example to us all. I will miss you, Mama...my mother-in-law...my friend.

I didn't know Clarcy Howell, but I've gotten to know her son, Donny, and his family over the past two years. We are so blessed by them, and we can see the impact that she has had on each one. I'm sorry not to have known Clarcy here on earth, but I'll look forward to meeting her in Heaven. God bless this family.

To the Howell Family,
So many memories of the sweet love that Clarcy had for everyone she met comes to our minds as we remember her from years past. A gentle spirit that overflowed with the joy of life that comes from knowing the Master was so evident in her everyday life. We are so thankful and blessed to have our memories of Clarcy.
May the wonderful memories your family has continue to give you strength now and always.

To my cousin,Ken, and his family. My heart goes out to all of you at the loss of your beautiful Clarcy. Not living nearby, I didn't get to spend a lot of time with Clarcy, but every time I did see her she had the most beautiful smile it felt like the sun shone a little brighter. I always enjoyed talking to her and especially hearing her sing with Ken. Our loss is heavens gain. Love to all the family. Judy
