Mrs. Clarcy Marie Ring Howell, age 73, of Warrensville, passed away Monday morning, December 13, 2010 at Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Max Weaver and Rev. Carrol Flack officiating. Burial will follow in the Weaver Family Cemetery in Lansing. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Howell was born in Ashe County on Monday, September 20, 1937 to the late John Ray and Alice Clara Sexton Ring. Clarcy married Kenneth Howell on June 19, 1954. She worked as an Inspector at Jefferson Apparel. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Merritt and Virginia Black; a brother, Clarence Edward Ring. Clarcy's love was for her family. Her sweet nature and caring spirit made her the center of her home. She was a pastor's wife for 42 years and was beloved by the congregations that she and Ken served. Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband, Rev. Kenneth Dean Howell, of 57 years of marriage; two sons, Kenny Howell and wife, Cathy, of Dallas, NC and Rev. Donny Howell and wife, Elaine, of Marion, Indiana; a brother, Bobby Black, of West Jefferson; a sister, Helen Kathleen McDowell, of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren Elisabeth Haywood, of Dallas, NC, Caitlin Howell, of Dallas, NC, Denae Olafson, of Colorado Springs, CO and Garrett Howell, of Marion, Indiana; several nieces and nephews also survive.
