Mr. Johnny Paul Thompson, age 58, of Lansing, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy McClure and Rev. Steve Viers officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11am, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Thompson was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, March 5, 1952 to the late Bart and Zola Powers Thompson. Through the years, Johnny worked in several factories in Ashe County. He was a member of Baptist Chapel Church. He had a deep concern for others and was known for his honesty. Mr. Thompson is survived by a brother, Richard Thompson and wife Deloris (Dee), of Quarryville, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousin also survive. Flowers accepted!
