I did not get a chance to know Ms. Edna long but in that short time I did I grew to love her very much. I loved the faces she would make when I asked her questions or her remark about what she was having for dinner, "Fish on a bun". Noel, you have been so wonderful to Ms. Edna and I know she appreciated everything you did do for her. JI and the rest of the family please know I will always hold a special place in my heart for Ms. Edna and I will never, ever forget her. You all are in my heart and prayers. Thinking of you during this difficult time.
Much love,
Shelley B. McNeill

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Edna Miller. I am the daughter of John and Geraldine Gentry and grew up in Mt. Jefferson Presbyterian Church. I have such fond memories of Mr. & Mrs. Miller. Mrs. Miller was a lady of southern charm and grace and will always be remembered for the beautiful hats she wore. She was devoted to Mr. J.I. and I know there has been a wonderful reunion in heaven, with family and friends.
I extend my sincere sympathy to you at this time of sorrow.

I am truly greatful to have been touched by the life of Edna Miller. On her first day at Villages of Ashe her family requested that I mount her TV on the wall. Edna and I began to talk and upon completing the installation she asked if I would like to just sit with her and watch a movie or something. I imediately knew that I had aquired a wonderful new friend. Always quick with a smile and a kind word she touched the lives of many. My family and I are deeply saddened by the loss.

JI and Noel and family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss...As I think of Edna, she is one of those few people in life that cross your path that always brings joy when you remember them. Edna and Ivan were long time customers of mine at First National Bank then First Citizens...but more than that, I considered them my friends. I love them both so much!!!!! I have a little gift Edna gave me when David and I moved from Ashe County. I use it every morning, and whisper a prayer for her. Now the prayer will change, I say it your your family now. I know how much you will miss her as I will.
I love your family and know you will remain in thoughts and prayers.
