I am Coy and Ellie Lawrence's granddaughter. My husband and I were in Jefferson for about 4 months last year for a job he had taken. I was at the motel much of the time by myself. When I longed for company I would go to Walmart and talk to Erleen. She was a really nice lady and I will always remember her recognizing me the first time I went in there. She had such a smile that I will always remember it. In addition to her smile, I will always treasure the time I spent with her through our little talks in between her greeting her customers. I always told my husband how much I enjoyed going to see her. Our prayers will be with your family for God to give you comfort that can only come through him.

I was so sorry to hear about Erleen passing away. I was talking about her yesterday and was planning to visit her in the nursing home today but I was to late. I worked with Erleen at Sara Lee and also am related to her and we always got along great. I always looked forward to seeing her at Wal-Mart. She was always asking about my kids when They weren't with me. My little girl always was glad to see her. We even traded recipes in WaMart. I will miss her but I know she is a much better place reunited with her husband. RIP Erleen it was a pleasure to have known you. God Bless You All.

I am Erleen's oldest granddaughter Kristy. I would like to first thank everyone for all of the kind words and support. They are a great comfort to us at this very difficult time. Grandma will be greatly missed by us all. I had a very special bond with my Grandma, some people said that I was the daughter she never had. I will never forget one time at Wal-Mart a man told me that my Grandma would never be gone as long as I was alive because I was the spitting image of her. Grandma would always do anything for me & my sister Megan, but I will remember the little things that made her so special the most. I will always treasure the times that I had with her, especially the times we shared when we both worked at Wal-Mart. I will continue to think of her everyday but I know that she is in a better place now. God Bless Us All

There is a special bond between grandma's and grand daughters. A bond that combines all emotions, friendship, personality, spirt, and the entire soul of both people. Grandma was the kind of person who always looked for the best in any situation. She was a light in darkness and a sound in silence. She was an encourager, an uplifter and a right fighter. She was fair in all things and strived to be the best person she knew how to be. Grandma loved her family and was proud of her family. Throughout her fight with Leukemia, it never got the best of her. She continued to fight and not get down. She had hopes of getting back to where she could enjoy the outdoors and warm weather with company at her home. Unfortunately, on Earth, that goal will not be realized but with out a doubt, she is enjoying the weather and company in Heaven. We will all miss her here, but Heaven has gained an angel that cannot compare to her earthly body. Grandpa has been waiting patiently to see her again and now I will wait patiently until I see her again. Grandma, I love you. See you later, Alligator!

“Miss Me But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room - Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little - but not too long, and not with your head held low. Remember the love and life we once shared. Miss me - but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home. UNKNOWN

Tabatha Farmer Brantley posted a condolence
Dear Danny and Denny,
We were out of town when we heard the very sad news about Aunt Erlene. We are sorry we were not able to attend the service to celebrate the life of such a wonderful person and my favorite aunt. It seems like just yesterday when we were up at Mama and Papa Farmer's eating Sunday lunch as kids. Aunt Erlene will always hope a special place in my heart for the many times she came to visit Dad while he was in the Hospital and for the many calls she would make to check up on him. He adored her and I know they always had a special bond. Just know that we will visit her when we go to Ashelawn to visit Dad and Mama and Papa. And although this is no consulation for her not being with us any longer at least we know she will not have to suffer any longer and will be reuninted with Daniel, mama and papa and Paul and Dad. I hope in the next weeks to come you can find some peace and know that she loved each of you very much. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Love you!
Tabatha, Chris and Blake Brantley

Many times over the past years I have wished that I had gotten to know my mother-in-law better. There are so many things we find out about people after they are gone. I knew that she was hard working and kind, caring and giving, but I have found out that she kept everything that was ever given to her. She truely loved my daughters and they loved her more than she knew. I have great respect for her as a person and genuine love for her as the mother of my husband and my mother-in-law. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Memories of love and friendship will be treasured for years to come. My heart aches for the ones she left behind. I have hope in tomorrow, faith in the everlasting, and comfort in the love of friends and family to get all of us through this tough time. God is good, bless us all. Rest in peace mom.
