Obituary of Richard Waugh Lemly
Richard Waugh Lemly, age 85, of Fleetwood died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 3:00pm at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Fleetwood with Rev. Wayne Ratcliffe officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery with military rites.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 21, 2011 evening at 6:00- 8:00 at Boone Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Lemly was born on Monday, December 7, 1925 in Ashe County to the late Harris and Annie Belle Cook Lemly.
In addition to his family, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Norman Lemly, Townly Lemly, Ithel Lemly; three sisters, Ruth Greene, Edwina Kincaid, Lorene Edwards.
Richard is survived by his wife, Minnie Wood Lemly, of Fleetwood; three sons, James Richard Lemly and wife Vicki, of Fleetwood, Fred Allen Lemly and wife Sandra, of Fleetwood, Keith Neil Lemly and wife Michele, of Fleetwood; three daughters, Carolyn Moser and husband John, of Fleetwood, Ellen Church and husband, Cline of Fleetwood, Evelyn Lemly, of St. John Indiana; two brothers, Clayton Lemly and wife Ruth, of West Jefferson, Tracy Lemly and wife Elizabeth, of Fleetwood; three sisters, Wilma Williams and husband Albert of Elkton, MD, Ola Belle Edwards, of West Jefferson, Ailene Young, of West Jefferson, ten grandchildren, Jeffrey Lemly, of Charlotte, Richard Moser, of West Jefferson, Marty Firebaugh, of Corinth, TX, Devon Houck, of Fleetwood, Holly McClure, of Fleetwood, Wilson Lemly, of Glendale Springs, Amber Scott, of Fleetwood, Hannah Lemly, of Fleetwood, Alex Church, of Fleetwood, Tatum Lemly, of Fleetwood; eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was a servant to the community.
