Mrs. Vivian Gaye Denny Jones, better known as "Gaye" age 71, of Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, May 29, 2011 at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Ray Denny officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones was born in Ashe County on Sunday, December 10, 1939 to the late Lon and Dora Brinegar Denny. She retired from N.C. Building Inspection Office, where she was the office manager for over 20 years. Gaye also love flowers and enjoyed sewing. She is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Jones; a son, Tony Bare, of Jefferson; two daughters, Ann Roten and husband, Danny, of Jefferson and Terri Maynor and husband, Jeff, of Chapel Hill, NC; a brother, Vernon Denny and wife, Margie, of Jefferson; three grandchildren, Brad Bare and wife, Kimberly, of Lansing, Travis Maynor and Jordan Maynor, both of Chapel Hill, NC; two great-grandchildren, Luke Bare and Austin Bare; several nieces and nephews also survive.
