Mr. Eddie Ned Eldreth, better known as "Ned", age 78, of West Jefferson passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Watauga Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Leashomb officiating. The family will receive friends at 11:00-12:00 on Friday at Midway Baptist Church prior to the service. Mr. Eldreth was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, December 14, 1932 to the late John Henry and Ellen Cory Sexton Eldreth. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Miller Eldreth of West Jefferson; one son, Tony Eldreth and wife Sharon Eldreth of West Jefferson; one daughter, Kim Scott and husband Randall of Fleetwood; two sisters, Hazel Miller of Jefferson, and Faye Klafter of St. Petersburg, FL. Six grandchildren; Trey Scott, Chase Scott, Justin Eldreth, Christopher Eldreth (Popcorn), Rebecca Eldreth, and Dean Shatley. One great-grandchild; Cate Shatley; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church Building Fund, 1670 Mount Jefferson Rd., West Jefferson, NC, 28694.
