I've only known Lena for about 4+ years but developed a frindship with her almost immediately. It was an honor to be friends with such a loving, caring and giving lady. I will miss her dearly. Lena so loved all of her family and spoke often about them. Her greatest desire would be to have all of you in Heaven with her one day.
I pray God blesses each one of you and gives you peace that only He can. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain.

Lena was a very special and sweet person. I worked with her here in Ashe County and my daughter, Hope Canter Guy stayed with her through her CNA work a few years back. Hope really loved working with Lena while she was at Ashe Services for Aging and she kept in contact with her afterwards. Lena always said Hope was her daughter and she cared very much for Hope, as Hope did her. We missed Lena once she moved away, did not realize she had gotten this bad in her health. I went to my friend's "Going Home" service on Monday and had the privilege of meeting some of the family she spoke of so often. It was an honor to meet her "boys". She loved each of you so much. Lena spoke often of her brothers and sisters also with much love. Her service was just as Lena would have wanted it, especially the call for Salvation. The songs were beautiful. All exactly as Lena would have wanted. I pray God blesses each one of you and gives you Peace beyond all understanding.
