Dear Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Great Uncle Hoke's passing. The last time I visited with him was about 5 years ago. We spoke about old times...life along Hoke Wagoner road, the old home place, his war experiences and family genealogy... those living and those that have passed on. During that visit he told me that he had always lived life fully and that he had no regrets. When we parted he shared this additional piece of wisdom with me, "make your decisions, keep moving forward, and don't look back." Those words have served me well during difficult times and periods of indecision. Thank you Uncle Hoke for your insights, inspiration and service to our country. May you rest in peace and abide with the Lord.
Love,
Catherine "Lynn" Reed
Alex and Family, I was so sorry to hear of your father passing, He was a very kind and fine gentleman I remember of him years past more than recent. That has been fifty some years ago. You were known as Alex and I was known as Michael, I remember your mother very well at Nathan's Creek Elementary she was my Fourth Grade teacher, I know coming down Old 221 my brothers and sisters and I would see how many cows we could count on your farm as we drove by when we lived in the old Walker house down the road, It was good to see you see you at John and Suzanne's house a while back, it had been a long time since I seen you. Your father was a very well respected and honorable man. I know you and your family will miss him dearly as I do mine. Take care and I hope to see you soon again.

I am a niece because I married Dwight Wagoner, Jr. (known as Buzz or Buster). Since Buzz died, I have lost contact with many of his relatives but I still remember Uncle Hoke. He was always such a gentleman and made us feel welcome when we visited. My family has definitely grown since I last saw Uncle Hoke: we had two children (Brandon and Kimberly) and they have families also.
I will be keeping your family in my prayers and remembering all the good times we had many years ago.
Love to all, Janet Wagoner Yoder.
I want to send my condolences to the Wagoner family. I have never met Mr Wagoner but wish I took time to visit with him. Aurora Hash Wagoner was my aunt and knew that he would have some good memories to share.
