Dear Kent and family, I will miss Jo Anne so much! We didn't get to see each other a lot but we would always speculate about how much fun we could have had if we had lived closer. I begged her to come to visit us in MD but it wasn't meant to be. E-mail kept us close tho and we would exchange info about our grandbabies. She loved her grandchildren so much. The last e-mail I received from her was six weeks ago and even tho she wasn't feeling well, she still sounded upbeat and had a happy outlook. She was always thinking of others, even at her sickest. We know she is no longer suffering now and is with the angels. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we would be there if we could. Love to all, Cathey and Larry Alejo

Dear Family,
Jo Anne was such a delightful, kind, and caring person. I was fortunate to become aquainted with her the year I had Laci in my class. She was the most involved grandmother and was always interested in all of the children in my room. Laci wrote about Jo Jo many times in her journal and spoke of her with such love and adoration. I admired Jo Anne for her devotion to her family and always enjoyed talking with her when she brought Laci to school. I know all too well that the holidays will be difficult for each of you. Please know that you will be in the thoughts and prayers of many. Take care of yourselves.

Kent and family; I was truly sorry to learn of Jo Anne's passing, I did not know until today Dec.15th or I would have been at the service. I first remember meeting Jo Anne at her and Kent's home when I was in Highschool, we (Mr. Poe and the horticulture class from the Career Center} went on a field trip which included a stop at their home. Jo Anne was very cordial as she always was from that time on every where I would see her. She always met you with a smile and wanted to know how you were. Growing up in Warrensville and our family's both from Sugar Tree Branch, the Poe's always kinda seemed like family and when you were around them they made you feel as such. {Mr. Poe} or Kent your family has always seemed special to my family, from the days of Elmer driving by our school bus stop each school morning hauling his bean pickers to the days in highschool sitting in your class cooking groundhog in the crock pot or working in the greenhouse. Those are all good memories. I can still see Jo Anne's smile and we all can smile with her for she is by far in a better place. In God's Glory
