Dear Family,
I am so glad Doris and I recently went to visit her. It was a blessing to sit and talk about days gone by. She has always been a special person to the Greene Family, after all she helped to raise us. She helped Mother out so many times when we were growing up for which I will always be grateful.
I'll treasure all the memories of Violet.
Our love and sympathy,
Joe and Martha

Miss Violet was a special person to the Greene family. Mother has sent me many times to get Violet to help at our house. She also spent a lot of her time at Grandma Moretz's taking care of Her. Then on Sunday's you would see Violet with her Bible going to Calvary Methodist to worship. The Elton Vannoy meant so much to us as friends and neighbors. GOD BLESS all of you.

While visiting Villages of Ashe, I would find Miss Violet sitting in the piano room. I would sit with her and she would hold my hand. She was such a sweet lady and I really enjoyed seeing her. I will miss her. She is at rest now. I have a firm belief that God chose for us to meet and share a short time together. God bless.

I will always remember visiting Violet and Vera when spending my Summers at Mamaw and Papaw Bunk's. She was so much fun and had enough energy to keep up with us kids. She's at home in Heaven and I'll be so happy to see her again one day. Prayers to your family in the days ahead.

Violet was always a kind and helpful lady, even to annoying cousin's children. She would try to keep us busy picking berries, only the promise of a pie would keep us from eating all we picked!! A truly wonderful lady. Prayers for the family, we know she is reaping her rewards.

Dear Vannoy family, each & all,
This note is to extend sympathy and concern in time of grief and loss. I remember Violet from about 1944, onward. I always admired and marveled at her quiet spirit and depth of soul. I can hardly think of Calvary UMC without Violet coming immediately to mind.
Heaven holds wondrous treasure! May God bless.
Sincerely & with my love ever,
John Duvall 313 Mt. Zion Rd. Elk Creek, VA 24326

Dawn and Gerald, I'm sorry to learn that the loved one for whom you were so devoted has passed away. One of my favorite memories of Violet was when she walked into the former Villages of Ashe for the first time - You would have thought she was running for public office! :-) Gerald did a great job of honoring her at the Grandparent Day celebration a couple of years ago. She will be missed.
