Miss Violet Esther Vannoy, age 94, of Fleetwood, died Wednesday night, May 30, 2012 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 2:00 at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Martha Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in the Fleetwood Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 1-2pm at Boone Family Funeral Home. Miss Vannoy was born in Ashe County on Wednesday, April 10, 1918 to Elton Lee Vannoy and Vera Belle Moretz. She is preceded in death by a brother; Winfred Vannoy, and two sisters; Christine Leonard, and Iris Watson. Miss Vannoy is survived by two brothers; Leonard Vannoy and wife Nellie of Winston Salem, and Jay Vannoy and wife Jane of Winston Salem; one sister; Dawn Houck of Fleetwood; several nieces and nephews also survive.
