Mrs. Dorris Ann Denny Shupe, better known as "Dot", age 62, of Lansing passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorials Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00am at Boone Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Shupe was born in Ashe County on Friday, June 2, 1950 to the late Dolphus Grady Denny and Ruby Greer Denny. She was owner of Main Street Discount in Lansing. She also served as a town alderman. She was also preceded in by her husband, Joe Mack Shupe on July 23, 1994. Mrs. Shupe is survived by one son, David Shupe and wife Jennifer of Greer, South Carolina; mother, Ruby Denny of Lansing; four brothers; Doyle Denny of Lansing, Larry Denny of Lansing, Jim Denny of Knoxville, TN, and Gary Denny of Greenville, South Carolina; two grandchildren; Caitlin Shupe and Grady Shupe; several nieces and nephews also survive.
