Mrs. Jean Goodman Spencer, age 84 of West Jefferson passed away Sunday morning, July 1, 2012 at Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Boone. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11:00am at Smethport United Methodist Church with Rev. Gregg Plott officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am on Thursday, one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Mrs. Spencer was born in Ashe County on Thursday, November 3, 1927 to the late Spencer and Grace Cochran Goodman. She retired from Sprague Electric Mfg. She was a member of Smethport United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Warren Spencer on July 26, 2006; a brother, Curtis Goodman and a sister Dorothy Malone. Mrs. Spencer is survived by cousins.
