Mrs. Gladie Rae Langston Adams, age 93, of Margate Health and Rehab Center passed away Tuesday night, December 18, 2012. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 7:00pm at Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Steve LeaShomb officiating. Mrs. Adams was born in Duplin County, NC on October 23, 1919 to the late Walter Raleigh Langston and Mutie Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband; Harold Adams; two sisters; Thelma Adams Wade and Bessie L. Rouse; and one brother; A.J. Langston. Mrs. Adams is survived by one daughter; Jewel Ann Adams Best and husband James of Laurel Springs; two grandchildren; Kevin Best of Clayton, NC and Emily Jill Philippe-Franz of Lowville, NY; and three great-grandchildren; Joshua Philippe, Jordan Gongalch and husband Jon, and Kyle Best; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church Building Fund, 1670 Mount Jefferson Road, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
